History
Zevran Entertainment started out when Jordan James decided to start a pseudo-business online portfolio. Over time, it evolved into a pseudo-business online portfolio. However, future plans do follow.
Future Plans
I (eventually we) plan to start a new entertainment company, with the revolutionary new idea that humor is actually funnier when kept completely clean. Most of the modern perception of humor (especially in America) revolves around the idea that it is for separating from moral standards in a socially acceptable way for the purpose of relief from the stress of a strict code of conduct. Whether it is blatantly morbid and obscene, or mostly clean with a few morally questionable references, it takes away from the quality of the "funniness." The reason that the previously stated idea is so prominent is because in the past, society, at least on the surface, actually was too stern. Now that we have got this idea pounded into our heads, society has gone to the other extreme, as it always does when it discovers a problem. Our social standards now are much too lax, and even have a lot of pressure to behave badly instead of honorably. Despite the illusion that the film industry is still growing and the amazing hold mass media has on our culture and ways of thinking, attendance at theatres has decreased significantly over the recent years. Much of this, admittedly, is because of piracy or buying movies after they come out on VHS or DVD, but it still illustrates that less value is placed on the media of the day. Comedy is the most popular genre now, and a decrease in audience interest is probably a very good signal that quality is decreasing. So, to sum up, I plan to start fixing it. To try to guide society back where they should be. Then they'll probably go to the other extreme again and we'll need some daring young rebels to take the job over. Oh well. At least guiding the masses is a noble cause.
Specific Information
Currently, Zevran Entertainment is being run on a slow laptop in San Jose by Jordan James between homework, meals, and attempts at socializing. Soon it will be run by Mapman, when Jordan leaves for his mission.
